Magnificent of Angklung in Austria

Reading the "Pikiran Rakyat" newspaper published on Saturday, July 24, 2010 feels very proud when I read an article title on the front page "Angklung Berjaya di Austria". Musical instruments native to Indonesia which had recognized by the Malaysian, was enthralled audience and the jury on the "Summa Cum Laude 4th International Youth Festival music Vienna 2010", in Vienna, Austria. Indonesian contingent represented by Keluarga Paduan Angklung 3 Senior High School Bandung (KPA 3) was awarded Winner of the Special Award of the Summa Cum Laude Festival.
At the festival, representatives of Indonesia pledge to bring three songs, namely the work of Robert Schumann's Symphony No.1, 1st mov Allegretto Palladio by Karl Jenkins, and the Indonesian song Badai Pasti Berlalu by Eros Djarot.

When bringing the work of Robert Schumann's Symphony No.1, KPA 3 managed to amaze an audience that numbered more than 2000 people. Besides the Austrians, they also follow other festivals held in Slovenia and Spain.

It's amazing achievements of this KPA 3, they can provide world-class music contribution by using the traditional art tools made from bamboo. Things like this are exemplary of our young generation to love the culture of Indonesia, so it does not provide an opportunity for Malaysia to recognize the culture that really is not theirs.
